About Customer<\/span><\/b>\u200b<\/h2>\n

The customer is part of the legacy group, which has lasted over the years <\/span>through products across consumer goods, appliances, real estate, <\/span>agriculture, and several other business areas. Being a leading finance firm <\/span>in India, they aim to lend home loans that fall in line with different <\/span>requirements of the nation\u2019s demographic while being deeply rooted in <\/span>values of making their end users realize achieving their dream home.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

The Need for Data Analytics Platform<\/span><\/b>\u200b<\/h2>\n

The existing data ecosystem of the customer was deployed on an OLTP <\/span>platform. For OLAP workloads, PostgreSQL was being used as the <\/span>database. However, the data that was generated was getting stored in <\/span>different tables, leaving the customer to put extensive effort in pulling the <\/span>reports required for taking necessary actions. Moreover, there was an <\/span>absence of data warehouse in the customer\u2019s existing data ecosystem.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

To eliminate this challenge, the customer was looking to establish a data <\/span>analytics platform that would help them improve data engineering, <\/span>simplify data processing, facilitate extracting valuable insights, and <\/span>automate reporting activities.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

Blazeclan’s<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/b>Data Modernization <\/span><\/b>Solution<\/span><\/b>\u200b<\/h2>\n

Snowflake was the customer’s preferred platform to resolve their key challenges of data quality, duplication, and standardization. Blazeclan<\/span> designed a solution involving AWS services and Snowflake platform to <\/span>meet the said requirements of the customer. The idea was to extract the <\/span>data from their existing OLTP platform, pull it into an OLAP platform, and <\/span>then perform data modelling on top of it. Blazeclan built the entire cloud warehouse from scratch using its expertise in the finance domain, thereby standardizing the data semantics.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

The approach followed for achieving the customer\u2019s objective was as <\/span>follows \u2013 <\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

    \n
  • The business data being captured daily and stored on OLTP system was <\/span>pulled into the Amazon S3.<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n
  • Amazon S3 comprised of the raw layer and the cleansed layer of the <\/span>data. If any ML requirement arises in the future, then the customer <\/span>would be able to implement it using AWS services cost-effectively.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Once the data was cleansed, it was pushed to the published layer in <\/span>Snowflake.<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n
  • Finally, data modelling has been performed on the published layer.<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The solution deployed provided the customer with a single source of truth for <\/span>their data. In addition, it enabled creation of tables and clubbing of the data into <\/span>a single platform, which further facilitated the customer in integrating reporting <\/span>tools based on their requirement. With the combined AWS and Snowflake <\/span>solution, the customer was able to<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Perform gap analysis on their existing data<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n
    • Build ETL pipelines on AWS and Snowflake, which were fully configurable. In <\/span>the case where new entities are required to be added, only configuration-<\/span>level changes will be done and there won\u2019t be any need for code-level <\/span>changes.<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n
    • Define rules for different data processing engines, including data ingestion, <\/span>cleansing, transformation, and loading into Snowflake<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Benefits Achieved by the Customer<\/span><\/b>\u200b<\/h2>\n

      • Single source of truth was achieved for structured, semi-structured, and <\/span>unstructured data. The integration with various data sources has been <\/span>seamless and nimble, which enabled a high availability of the data in a <\/span>centralized, consolidated, and catalogued format.<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n
      • The data in the new analytics platform is highly secured and the users can <\/span>only access it through proper authentication.<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n
      • Self-service tools enabled the customer to democratize their business data <\/span>and power their data analytics, advanced analytics, and machine learning use <\/span>cases.<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n
      • The modernized data platform was easy to integrate, automate, and maintain <\/span>compared to the customer’s old data system.<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n
      • Following business operation reports and related key performance indicators <\/span>will get fulfilled as part of dashboarding requirements<\/span>\u200b\n

        • Financial Reporting<\/span><\/b> \u2013 This includes reporting of future delinquency rate, <\/span>interest spread, profit before tax (PBT), value insurance, premium, <\/span>insurance penetration, etc.<\/span>\u200b<\/li>\n
